If you’ve spent any time online lately, you’ve probably noticed that AI is everywhere. It’s writing emails, creating images, answering questions, and finding its way into just about every industry, including interior design.
Naturally, we’ve been asked whether we’re using AI in our firm. The answer is yes… just probably not in the way you might expect.
At Alisha Taylor Interiors, we see AI the same way we see any other advancement in technology. It’s a tool that can help us work more efficiently. But when it comes to designing a luxury home, we still believe the most important tool is experience.
Great Design Is Still Personal
One of our favorite parts of the design process is getting to know our clients.
We learn how they spend time together, how they entertain, what makes them feel at home, and even the little routines they don’t think to mention at first. Those conversations often become the foundation for the best design decisions.
“That’s something technology simply can’t replace.” – Alisha Taylor
So, How Do We Use AI in Interior Design?
Mostly behind the scenes. Like many businesses today, we’ve found that AI can be incredibly helpful with some of the day-to-day tasks that keep a business running.
We might use it to organize information and meeting notes, improve our internal flows, and research topics a little faster. These tools help us save time, which means we have more of it to spend where it matters most: serving our clients and designing their homes.
What You’ll Never See AI Doing
There are also parts of our work that we don’t see changing anytime soon.
Our detailed Design Books.
Our construction drawings.
Our cabinetry elevations.
Our finish selections.
The coordination that happens with architects, builders, and trades.
These pieces require intentional decision-making, technical knowledge, and years of experience. They’re also some of the biggest reasons our projects run as smoothly as they do. We believe those responsibilities should stay in the hands of designers.

Embracing What’s Helpful
Technology has always changed the way designers work. Hand drafting became CAD; renderings became photorealistic; virtual meetings made collaboration easier… AI in interior design feels like the next step in that evolution.
We’re excited to learn how it can make our business more efficient and improve the experience we provide our clients. At the same time, we don’t believe every new tool should replace the human side of design.
Sometimes the best answer is simply finding the right balance, just like in design.
Looking Ahead
We’re not ignoring the future, and we’re certainly not rushing to hand it the keys, either.
We’ll continue exploring new technology where it makes sense, while staying committed to the things that have always mattered to us. Because at the end of the day, AI can help support the process, but it still takes people to design a home that feels like yours!
