But those plans are already determining much of how your finished home will function and feel. Window locations, door openings, ceiling conditions, room proportions, and architectural focal points all influence what can happen inside the home.

We Look at the Plans Through an Interior Lens
Your architect is thinking about the architecture of the home. We’re looking at those same plans and thinking about how you will live within it.
As we review the drawings, we’re considering furniture placement, cabinetry, lighting, ceiling details, focal points, sightlines, and how you’ll move through each space. Is there enough wall space for the bed and nightstands? Does a window location support what we envision for the room? What will you see when you enter the space? Sometimes everything works beautifully on paper. Other times, developing the interiors reveals an opportunity to make a room function or feel even better.

The Architecture and Interiors Should Inform Each Other
A custom home is made up of hundreds of interconnected decisions. Moving a doorway can improve a furniture layout. Adjusting a window can create a stronger interior elevation. A ceiling detail may need to coordinate with the lighting plan. These aren’t necessarily corrections to the architectural plans. They’re another layer of information that comes from developing the home from the inside out.
Instead of waiting for completed plans and then designing within them, we can collaborate with the architect as the home develops. They bring their architectural expertise, we bring our interior and technical expertise, and both perspectives help create a more cohesive home.
Collaboration Makes the Process Better for the Client, Too
A strong project team shouldn’t require the homeowner to act as the go-between.
We believe your architect, interior designer, and builder should be communicating with one another, working through details together, and bringing thoughtful recommendations to you. For our clients, who have limited time, high expectations, and plenty of other decisions competing for their attention, that collaboration is an important part of the luxury experience. Early collaboration also means the builder ultimately receives a more considered set of information.
